# Bungee jumping!

Here is what happened in South Africa when a bungee rope broke. The woman ended up in the river, and had to try to untangle herself from the cord that was getting snagged while trying to swim with her feet tied together, and a broken collarbone.

I saw that video on the news! Holy crap! I hadn’t been planning to bungee jump, but that pretty much slammed the door on it for me.

That was not in South Africa. [That jump was from the Victoria Falls Bridge, which is on the Zambia/Zimbabwe border.](http://www.news24.com/World/News/Tourist-survives-Vic-Falls-bungee-horror-20120109) Both of which are countries entirely independent of South Africa. (It’s not your fault; Bloomberg made the mistake. I’m just saying.)
