Burn Hospitals, USA?

BAMC is most definetly still the US Army’s burn center. I believe that due to the war on terror and the unfortunate amount of experience that has been gained from it BAMC may be the best burn center in the states period.

I think that military hospitals have always lead the way in burn treatment. I remember watching the ten o’clock news when I was growing up in Houston. You knew that someone was badly burned when the reporter mentioned that they were being transported from Ben Taub in Houston to Brook Memorial in San Antonio.

I’m still waiting for a response. I’ll start nagging them about it tomorrow, but people in the medical fields are used to being nagged by and about patients. Does the general have any friends in the US forces?

Vanderbilt University Burn Centre.

I worked in the engineering dept. at Maricopa County Hosp. back in 1980. They’ve got a fancier name now, but I think it’s still the county hosp. Anyway their burn unit was highly respected, even back then. They got the worst burn cases from around the SW and even further. If they’ve maintained that reputation all these years, I find it very impressive.
I do remember that they were using/experimenting? w/ pig skin back then. I was in the unit a number of times to handle emergency maintenance problems. It was an impressive operation, just to look at.
