Bush Admin fomented the Gaza Strip civil war?!

[QUOTE=Alessan]
Why not? Why can’t you fight a war against an elected government? Are elected governments sacroscent?

BTW, elections don’t make a country a democracy.

Free and fair elections do and by middle eastern standards the palestinian elections were. The US wanted the elections. The US got the elections and then tried to subvert the results.

If any country can attack or subvert another just because might makes right leaves no moral ground to stand on when others have the might to knock down a couple of towers.

No, you need elections and a genuinely effective government resulting (Iraq has the first but not the second). But no third thing is needed – is it?

American or Israeli approval apparently.

OTOH, it also leaves the attackers with no moral ground for objection when the country where the towers were located strikes back, and so on.

I’m not worried about the moral wellbeing of terrorists but I am outraged when my own democratically elected government and its allies act like terrorists.
