Bush Calls Obama to congratulate him on an "Awesome Night"

Used car salesman.

Maybe the way they show him in the 2.d “Harold and Kumar”-movie isn’t all that far-fetched

Like previously stated; I might not agree with his politics, but I sure wouldn’t mind hanging out with him.

Saw a part of a CNN interview with Bush about the meeting he and Obama had at the White House. Bush was remarking that as soon they got through the serious stuff, the first thing Obama wanted to know was where his girls would be staying and whether they would like it at the White House.

It was also reported that Obama will not be attending the G20 summit tomorrow, because “We have one president at a time, and it’s important that the president can speak for the United States at the summit.” IMO that was a smart move.

See this is why we don’t have violence during elections. People that don’t agree on issues can still be civil to each other. I think Obama will get a much greater understanding of the pressures Bush had as well.

High school or college baseball coach?

College baseball. He’s got ambition.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Republican and life long conservative, who has had my share of problems with Bush and his political actions which essentially broke the traditional conservative values of the Republican party in exchange for a set of principles I find to be both stupid and dangerous for the country, I’ve always been able to separate my dislike of some of Bush’s policies from any dislike for Bush the person.

In many ways politics is grand theater. All news reports we’ve gotten about meetings between Obama and Bush since the election have indicated the two men got along well. Obama has serious issues with many of Bush’s policies, but like any career politician he has probably long since separated his personal feelings on other politicians from his political ones. Not to say some politicians don’t hate one another on a personal level, but there hasn’t been any indication Obama and Bush have that sort of relationship.

For example, Bush has said that when Obama was elected he called President Clinton–because he felt that Clinton did a wonderful job in handing over the White House to him and he wanted to do the same for Obama. When you look at a lot of the vitriol you see between supporters of these politicians it is sometimes surprising how they can be quite civil to one another face to face.

Yeah, Kerry was so dumb he couldn’t even spell his name right!
