Pakistanis.

I don’t blame Bush for that comment, though, since he was probably unaware that “Paki” is a very harsh and racist word to use in some parts of the world.

FWIW, “Paki” is not a word you’d use in front of your mother up here. We have a large East Indian population and it’s used as a kind of blanket slur on anyone from that general area, whether they’re actually Pakistani or not.

I believe in most cases a term that is considered a slur in Canada is recognised as one in the USA.
