We destroy embryos to create…erm, stem cells, and I’m the first president to authorize funding for…erm, stem cells…and that’s because I have hope, too, for…erm, stem cells… ---

The stem cell thing is actually something I agree with Bush with, but it was the best explanation I’ve heard from Kerry of his position. I can’t agree with it but I respect it. Chris Reeve, though, makes me think of him in SOUTH PARK snapping off fetus’ heads and sucking their cells. ---

OK. My freshman English students sound better-informed, more reasonable, and generally smarter than Bush when they make speeches on stem-cell research. And considering that they’re eighteen-year-olds in the Bible Belt with zero public speaking experience, that is SCARY. ---

That was a nice ripost by Kerry about Bush waffling on the stem cell lines. Also good for Kerry for pointing out how inadequate the lines are. ---
