I like the way he brought up being a former “law enforcement officer” (DA). Can’t accuse him of being soft on crime. Affirmative action… new topic. ---

IIRC, President Bush gave a speech at the Statue of Liberty on July 4, 2001, advocating the shortening of the immigration process. I am pretty sure this is true, because I remember arguing about this with a number of stupid, jingoistic colleagues who made comments about my immigrant father shortly after 11 Sep 2001. I dragged one to the computer for a google search and invited another to settle this out in the parking lot. I must admit, if I never hear the phrase “this President” again, it’ll be too soon. Although watching someone else be the flip-flopper (or would that be simply standing firm on shifting sand?) is rather fun. Not to mention, how can Bush sound like he’s _for_ something while denigrating it and belittling its benefactors at the same time? Like; “Goooood little minorities! We’re so glad you can have a home!” ::: puke ::: ---
