I certainly hope so.
Hooray!
Yanks 3, Sox 0, bottom of the 7th.
I also think that Kerry won on substance, but Bush had his moments. I’d give it to Johnny even though it was not his most shining performance.
Heh. A Black journalist, Tavis Smiley, is on ABC happy that they finally addressed issues specific to people of color.
My cup runneth over with loooove…
DAMMIT!
Why not? The purpose of the debates is presumably to sway voters. The polls should presumably reflect the same consensus as we see here - yes?
There’s only one vote that counts: the supreme court handing it to Bush. Or, I mean, the vote the american population makes, so long as they are allowed and didn’t have their registration tampered with. I mean, the mastery of democracy we have that we can hold fair elections here and make sure they happen everywhere we dropped bombs!

I’m not in a battleground state, so I don’t see any ads. What was used by whom? Were they official candidate campaign ads, or possibly from a 527 organization?
Really? Well, the pundits are always talking about how America has never been so divided, and I personally have never seen people so pissed off. I went to protests against the war and against the Republicans in New York and they were massive. Maybe it’s just in my world that there are such intense feelings.
Would you give your strawmn a rest, please, *Bricker.
Elections are never much affected by the debates and in this case there is a much more narrow middle than usual. There aren’t enough undecideds out there to cause a dramatic swing one way or the other.
Since when did we consider dopers a representative sample of America?
It’s not, and Bricker knows that, erislover.
Boy, for a coupla guys who “don’t want to impose their faith on others,” they sure know how to suck God’s dick.
How many votes does God get, anyway?
St. Louis 10, Houston 4, top of the 7th. So, according to my scoring system, it is still a tie.
Any polls yet?
Fox is spinning this hard for Bush. They sound really desperate.
So is the Truth Squad going to use its mighty Fact-o-Meter on Bush denying he said he wasn’t worried about ObL?
I really don’t understand why you keep saying this. Clearly it continues to be the case. Look at where the polls were prior to the first debate and now. Kerry’s exceptionally strong performances have moved the polls markedly, swinging them in some cases by 15 points.
What are you going for here? How’s that working for you?
So what was up with the right side of W’s face? Does it always droop like that? I’ve never notice before, but I couldn’t stop looking at his mouth. Has he had a stroke or something? When he smiled, only half of his face moved.
Seriously. Did anybody else notice that?
Excellent – NBC is showing the “I’m not concerned about Osama” quote.
ABout 5-10% are undecided, and it would be quite a dramitic shift if even 3/4 of them went for Kerry. Certainly if the oft-quoted (by some folks) but useless internet polls were accurate, we would see those undecideds going in clearly disproportionate numbers to Kerry.
There have been so goddammed many of them, I can’t recall the specific focus of the commercial but I am sure I heard the “global test” sound bite followed by the “I’m GWB and I approve…”
And I KNOW that I have seen commercials from the DNC using images of Bush grimaces right after Debate 1.
Don’t take the online polls as factual or serious. After the last debate, observing the online vote tracker on CNN - Kerry got 40000 votes in about the 30 seconds it took me to refresh it the poll numbers.
I think that a lot of those are ahem manipulated by people who are a little technically savy. And it’s as easy to do as a denial of service…
