I would tend to agree with you in principle except that insofar as the proposals to change the student loan programs are being made as part of a democratic process, we DO have control of this thing, albeit tenuous. If you think Perkins loans should stick around, write your representatives. If you don’t, write your representatives. Being dismissive isn’t going to help.
