Al Qaeda is an ornganized netowrk of cells aimed at smashing not only the US, but also the secular governments of the MENA region, **including Saddam Hussein**. Al Qaida are Sunni religious fanatics, so they, for example hate Hezbullah, who are Shi’ite religious fanatics and no better than _kufr_ in their eyes. Thus you have two anti-US terrorist groups who hate each other as much as they hate us. Terrorists aren’t a monolithic entity with uniform goals as you seem to think. Saddam had nothing to do with Al Qaeda or 9/11. And you’d best watch that Sodom shit. ---

**gobear** , a terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist. Does it really help you justify a death if you can decide which bomber did the deed? This is disgusting. These deaths are happening. If you want to convince me the US should leave Iraq, I won’t argue. I agree we shouldn’t have done it in the way we have. But we’re there now. No, Sodom had nothing to do with 9/11 _directly_. But Halliburton had nothing to do with this war directly either. Yet, we seem to have no problem in connecting them to killing children. The fact remains, Sodom paid out cash to the families of _ **CHILDREN** _ to blow themselves up. What a great leader leader. Wish he was President of the US. How compassionate. And I’ll call him Sodom as long as they burn the US flag. I’ll stop once 51% of Dopers party at my house while I burn an Iraqi flag. Oh, Hussein is in prison, can’t watch any Sodom shit. Are you trying to threaten me? I’m just expressing an opinion. I won’t apologize if it goes against your views. ---

I doubt **duffer** is drunk: rather, he is always ravingly incoherent, and very, very stupid. Although you can argue him into a petulant retraction on a single issue, it has no long-term effect; he’ll be just as incoherent and just as stupid in the very next thread. OK, I’ll admit being a dumbass when you show me a 50/50 view in the Pit threads when it comes to politics. I’ve already admitted numerous times to being conservative. (This does NOT mean Republican no matter how viscious the left wants to be.) All I can do is try to counter it. Does that make me an asshole? Well, yeah. Even if I have a valid argument.
