Only slightly related…Here in Minnesota we have a town named Remur (pronounced reemher) and a town named Aitken (locally pronounced Ake-in). The joke here is that you have to get through Aitken before you get to Remur. (get it???sexual innuendo…guffaw) ---

Yeah, I’ve heard of Fucking, Austria. As long as people are sharing cities, there arew two towns in California, one in the north, the other in the south: Weed and Reefer. But I’d still like to know if there is actually a place named Bumfuk… ---

More politely, and euphoniously, we say “the back side of beyond”. To get there by a circuitous route we go “behind Robin Hood’s barn”, for some obscure reason. ---

Hence to go “around Robin Hood’s barn” you had to go all the way around Sherwood Forest; not exactly a direct route to anywhere. ---
