National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, who would be unlikely to be deferential to Kelly, is also gone. And the press eats up the “poor John Kelly, working hard to keep our nation safe, while being humiliated by Trump” storyline. As does most of the population. John Kelly’s distaste for civilian rule of this nation should give pause to his defenders. In an article entitled “The Thin Skin of John Kelly: The chief of staff’s military background has helped him impose order on a chaotic White House. I would like to think that people would question any event or occurrence that resulted in an Administration announcing that certain civil rights must be suspended ‘for the duration.’ But clearly, many people would _not_ question this–not for an instant.
