I don’t see Americans are leading, we’re participating, but companies from many countries are working on it. Here in America, Qualcomm is doing a lot on the user side, I’m sure Apple is working on it, but other leaders are Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei. I guess Verizon and AT&T could count too, since they’re early adopters who are working on putting this equipment in the field. ---

Good point, and I will retract my claim. As you say, there are many companies worldwide who are working on it. But dammit, we’re not trying hard enough. We must always be the leader in everything we do! ---

All you can get in the USA are sort of pinched-looking Mylar foil ones that are less than two feet tall. (I’d link to the page of Shopping results, but am not sure whether that might be a violation of the rules. Just search “Trump balloons” and hit Shopping and you’ll see it.) If the British-style balloons----large and without the pinched edges----really ARE embargoed here, then I WANT TO KNOW WHY! Because if we have to have Trump foisted on us on July 4, then at the very least we should be able to enjoy some nice balloons, displayed at locations around the nation. ---

When do you suppose thump is going to designate July 4th as his _official_ birthday, the way Queen Elizabeth celebrates her _official_ birthday in June? This is interesting … I think the proposed Trump-a-ganza on the Fourth will be the first time Trump has gone out in public, to an event that people didn’t have to pay to get in or wear a MAGA hat. (That’s assuming he doesn’t turn the Lincoln Memorial into one of his rallies. If he does, I think it’s time for torches and pitchforks.) ---
