I think he’s still under the impression that no matter how badly he fucks something up, it’s no big deal in the end because that’s when you file for bankruptcy, and then you’re all good. ---

He makes a rash, impulsive and probably corrupt decision to kiss up to Turkey and shaft our Kurdish allies. 2. It immediately blows up in his face. The reaction is fierce and bipartisan. 3. He thinks “I can fix this!” and tweets “don’t mess up, Turkey, or I’ll be really mad!” Problem solved. ---
