As PJ O’Rourke said when he endorsed Clinton, our new nominee will be wrong, but they will be wrong within normal parameters. If you mistake “disagrees with me” for “irrational,” you can do a lot to enable Trump’s re-election, so I hope you don’t make that error. Democrats have the job of sticking together and supporting whoever comes out of the nomination process. Non-cultist conservatives have the job of swallowing their nausea and supporting the Democratic nominee until the day after the election’s decided, at which point they can let fly with both barrels. My fear is that too many conservatives won’t be able to prioritize getting rid of the maniac over keeping their ideological opponents from getting anything we want. ---
