Everyone in the room knows what he’s saying is total bullshit - that’s not the point. The point is he’s telling his antagonists that truth doesn’t matter, that truth is whatever he says it is. He’s changing the political culture in this country with each new lie that he tells. We’re approaching a point at which the culture becomes so toxic and the damage to the institutions so extensive that it may be irreversible. ---
