Where on the Internet can I order a political wall map of Russia with the 88 federal subjects (republics, oblasts, krais, etc.) shown in different colours? I would prefer the map to be labelled in English rather than Russian.

Have you tried US Geological Survey ([www.usgs.gov](http://www.usgs.gov)) or even the Russian embassy ([www.russianembassy.org](http://www.russianembassy.org))?

I have had pretty good luck with the USGS in the past.

I’d go with the USGS. They produced many of the maps my Russian Geography professor had us use.

I did some browsing through the USGS’s map store but didn’t see anything that looked like a political map of Russia. Then again, it’s hard to tell because they don’t have any thumbnail images.

I did find [one site offering a Russian political map](http://www.mapscd.com/russia_illustrator.html), but it’s available only electronically, and furthermore costs €195. I just want a cheap little poster to hang on a wall.

No idea about buying one with your specific specs, but the [University of Texas at Austin](http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/commonwealth.html) has a ton of cool maps, both current and historical, including various ones of Russia and the CIS. Most were produced by the CIA; maybe they can point you in the right direction?

[www.NationalGeographic.com](http://www.NationalGeographic.com) under, maps, ‘Russian Wall Map’:

“Our classic wall map of Russia and the independent states of the former Soviet Union shows thousands of place names, roadways, political boundaries, bodies of water, airports, and many other geographic details.” $10.99 - $139 (depending on size & mounting).

Yeah, National Geographic was the first place I looked. Unfortunately, their Russian map doesn’t colour the federal districts.
