50 screwdrivers?.. Damn.
My suggestion is to look up a decent quality (read… not the cheapo bargain basement set) ~20 piece screwdriver set at Sears or Home Depot or Lowes and list the different screwdrivers that are included. Then, sort through your current collection, throw out the low quality/broken screwdrivers and see what types you’re missing. Then buy those piece by piece, or price out the set, which may wind up less expensive overall.
Another alternative is a good ratcheting screwdriver that uses bits, that’s my go to screwdriver even though I have a drawer full of good quality regular screwdrivers. Won’t help when you need a stubby one, though.
I have one screwdriver I keep hidden away. The handle is insulated and the length perfect for bypassing/shorting the safety interlocks on our Kubota lawn tractor. The only way to start the damn thing.
In addition to what others have said, I also have a pair of screwdrivers with magnetic heads. We were on an errand/trip somewhere, and my wife had to run to the hardware store. She tends to buy from the higher end of the rack just to avoid buying the shitty stuff, and got these. They were probably too expensive, but they’re INCREDIBLY useful and well made. They’re just Stanleys, but they have a dedicated spot in my kit.
I’m a diehard Craftsman tool buyer (diehard, see what I did there?), but I picked up a set from Harbor Freight as a backup set. I paid under twenty for a huge set and have to say they work well. The handles aren’t as comfortable as my Craftsman ones, but if you are looking for a complete set for small money, check them out.
