The problem with iTunes is that it has morphed from a simple (and elegant) music player into the “center of your i-universe.” Now it handles your music, podcasts, iPhone and iPad syncing, App store purchases, etc, etc. Apple should split these functions out into separate Apps, IMHO. ---

Totally agree. It _used to be_ a great design. But it has gotten so bloated that it is pretty worthless now. ---

I am historically one of the Apple fans / evangelists, so I ought to be an easy sell on Apple software, but iTunes is bloody awful. I used Audion until I finally gave up on the last OS to contain Rosetta (and hence the ability to use PowerPC apps), and then switched to a home-rolled FileMaker-Pro based MP3 player. ---
