Buzz Lightyear literally went “To Infinity and Beyond” on the International Space Station, as part of the “Toys in Space” program co-sponsored by NASA and The Walt Disney Company. Although Buzz realizes he is just a toy, he [trained very hard](http://youtube.com/watch?v=1PsOB3flufQ) for his mission, and was brought up along with the crew of mission STS-124 on May 31. Although most of the crew is back home on Earth, Buzz stayed behind with engineer Gregory Chamitoff. The two of them [helped open](http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1309053.ece) the newest attraction at Disneyland, Toy Story Mania, on Wednesday. Buzz plans to stay on the ISS for six months, after which he may receive a congratulatory parade at Walt Disney World. [As you can see](http://www.animationmagazine.net/article/8484), Buzz enjoys being in space for real. Hopefully, Buzz will be able to readjust to being on Earth in time for Disney’s 3D re-releases of his starring roles, which will lead up to the release of _Toy Story 3_ in 2010. ---

That wasn’t flying. That was free-falling with style. ---

That’s cool. I hadn’t heard about that. All I kept reading about were the toilets 🙂
