Given the trouble **reprise** , I and others went to in this thread to specifically _not_ mention his last SN, **SmileyDeath** , could you possibly have used 1/10 of that energy to email one of us, or a mod, that question? And **matt** , since **SmileyDeath** has an email listed, _you_ could damn well have emailed **SD** a response instead of posting it here. I’ll leave the issue of **SD** ’s maturity on-board, as compared to **MM/other SN** ’s, to someone who feels it important enough to actually post about. I will say, though, that I found him, in person, to be relatively harmless. ---

Guys, Being an asshole in public, and getting banned from an internet site because of it is not the ultimate evil of human endeavor. It’s a pain in the ass, yes. It’s moderately unpleasant for those who are caught trying to be reasonable with someone who finds reason to be boring and uninteresting. But, you have them banned, and you move on. And Mike Masterson moves on as well. And either he learns from the experience, or he doesn’t. But he might well have other interests that have greater importance to the world at large than message boards on the internet. Or, he might find a message board that suits his personal posting style and finds him to be a valued member. It’s a great big world out there. Just curious - does it ever happen that a poster gets banned, then, by begging pleading or cheating gets back on, and reforms to become a productive and community-spirited member? I’d think it would be enough of a pain in the ass to get back on, that you’d really have to want to make nice to bother going to the trouble, but it doesn’t seem that it generally works out that way. Though I suppose it would be better to not be a dumbass in the first place… ---

[/quote] Gary Kumquat comes immediately to mind (he is, in my opinion, one of our better posters now). Although I’m not sure he had to plead his case. We may have re-evaluated our decision after an initial reaction and un-banned him.
