I was the person who started the Aubrey thread because she lied to a moderator about my dear and loving husband to save her own ass and try to justify that she semi-flamed someone outside of the Pit. She said it was in self defensive to something **Sauron** called her that he never said. It turned into a whorefest but it didnā€™t start out that way. It started as a legitimate rant. Apparently itā€™s no big deal to lie to a mod and post something inaccurate about another poster on the board. And Aubrey never showed back up to defend herself or apologize for her mistake. I didnā€™t ask for the thread to be closed down BTW because I was hoping she would at least have the decency to come in there and apologize. Oh, wellā€¦live and learn. ---

I would like to add humbly that not everyone spends all day, every day at SDMB, and so it is natural that some posters feel glutted with stuff while other posters have missed the boat. No one has to be a jerk about it, and IMO, Cajun Manā€™s post struck me as jerkish, even the third time I read it. Not to say he shouldnā€™t have locked the thread, far be it from me to question the wisdom of a mod, but since SDMBers are (obviously) having such fun with the whoremongering, why not suggest a constructive alternative, like opening a ā€œBrothelā€ thread in MPSIMS, where one can state oneā€™s room number, Whore name, and particular specialty? Itā€™s less likely to foster resentment and rebellion than just shutting people down. Especially when they are so persistent in amusing themselves in a way that is deemed unsuitable for the Pit. ---

Well, you now have the solution to how to get ā€œtrainwreckā€ threads closed ā€¦ hijack them into a ā€œWhatā€™s your whore name?ā€ fest, and a Mod. will close it. (This is not a serious suggestion!) Oh, and **Aries**? I would definitely have used the ā€œReport this post to a moderatorā€ option post haste: both flaming outside the Pit and misrepresenting the words of another are offenses against board rules, and it sounds like **Aubrey** did both. ---

Wow. Iā€™m humbled. That was easily the kindest thing anyone on this board has ever said to me. I must admit that I have learned a tremendous amount by hanging out around here. Iā€™m a knowledge seeker, and this is the finest place to find knowledge Iā€™ve ever come across.
