# Cake from scratch: need help to make lighter, less dense

Dingdingding! we have a winner, I sent my mom a link to this and after consulting her copy of the recipe, they are transposed. So my grandmother at some point had written it down backwards. But the texture on Thursday’s cake ended up lighter, if a little dry. After it was iced, I didn’t taste the soda at all.
