There’s a lot more variety with pie than cake. After a while, all cake tastes the same. Also, I’ve never had a non-desert cake. ---

Yeah, cheesecake is definitely a type of pie. There’s nothing cakey about it at all. It’s a custard cooked with a pastry crust or graham cracker crust. If you consider cheesecake to be a type of cake, then you have to consider pumpkin pie to be cake, as well. They’re pretty much the exact same recipe, with one having cream cheese, and the other having pumpkin puree. ---

I haven’t voted. I love cake but having really good cake is rare, usually it’s just okay, dry cake is always disappointing. I am leaning toward pie because of the many possible varieties and the cheesecake argument. But the really important question, and possible deciding factor for me, in which category does Tiramisu belong? ---

The pie category can also include non dessert pies such as chicken pot pie. Never heard of chicken pot cake. ---

Now, I know I definitely made the wrong choice when I voted for cake. I only eat cake when it’s someone’s birthday, meanwhile I’ll have both pumpkin and apple plus a third kind for the holidays. Do I need to mention cheesecake again? ---
