# California Drought: Good News! Northern California Gets Some Rain!

And the news media dutifully reports that one big rain doesn’t mean an end to the long drought (as if anyone would assume that).

I’ve seen this over and over in different places. I suspect news editors have the phrase “Rainstorm will not end drought” in storage and just tap an F5 key to insert it into their stories.

See post #12. It became a parody, at least on the station I listened to.

(I also heard of a radio station in Phoenix where a DJ once said of a rainstorm, ‘But it’s a _dry_ rain!’ 😛 )
