Well, [here we are again](http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Prop-8-backers-ask-court-to-stop-weddings-4662269.php). The soul-less brain-dead defenders of “traditional” marriage (not a divorce in a carload) are trying to get the California Supreme Court to tell the California county clerks that a) the federal district court decision that overturned Prop 8 only applied to the two couples who brought the suit(:smack:) and b) that state officials don’t have the authority to tell the county clerks what to do, i.e. to allow same-sex marriages. The delicious irony of the second point is this: in 2004, in order to stop gay weddings in San Francisco, these same cretins successfully sued at the state level, which led to the state Supreme Court ruling that marriage is in fact subject to state regulation. If their moronic case had ever had any merit, which I doubt, it is just lovely to contemplate when they realize that 9 years ago they cut the ground out from under their own feet. Points and laughs, feels schadenfreude out the wazoo. Roddy ---

So we’ve had SSM reinstated here for a couple of weeks and so far I am happy to report that there have been no catastrophes of any kind. Life had gone on as normal. ---
