As some of you might remember, I teach speech. Every semester, I have students who are very excited about doing a speech on stupid laws, but their excitement wanes when they cannot find the stories behind the laws. Some of them are somewhat self-explanatory, but others have us all throwing our hands in the air. Does anyone know of any sites that give the stories behind the laws? Thanks, simply\_cats ---

Here’s a link to snopes’s [Legal Affairs](http://www.snopes.com/legal/legal.htm). I’m not sure how much it will help you, though. It’s mainly there to disprove the existence of stupid laws. ---

[Dumblaws.com](http://www.dumblaws.com/) has some good ones, and even explains the reasoning behind some (not all) of the laws listed.
