Chuck D or Flavor Flav or whoever shouted to the crowd “soon you gonna throw off the white man’s yoke and return to the motherland!” and expected huge cheers.
Instead he got uncomfortable silence and shuffling feet, and a few "boo"s. A total misinterpretation of the situation in favor of his own parochial view - in that his audience would rather that the status quo were maintained, no matter how racially uncomfortable it was for Public Enemy, and were shitting themselves about the “return to the motherland”.
