As one of the Pregnant Dopers ™ I’ve decided it is time to invest in a camcorder, so as to capture for posterity every adorable thing the Twiddlette does. Having browsed quite a bit at epinions, cnet and amazon I’m more confused than ever. All I know is that I want to be able to watch the stuff I record on my TV more than I want to be able to watch it on my computer or email it, and I have a budget of less than $1000. Has anyone bought a camcorder recently that they just love? What features are important to keep in mind? Any other hints? Thanks for any help, Twiddle ---

I bought a Mini DV several years ago when they were over your budget. You can now get one at Costco within your budget. High quality, easy to use.
