Camping equipment advice wanted

A sleeping pad is more important for thermal insulation than for comfort. Not all pad types offer both. Thermarest types do offer both as well as good portability (though noticeably less portability for some of the thicker models). Unless you can’t afford one, it’s hard to make a better choice.

My experience is that once you try an LED flashlight, hand-held or headband stye, you won’t particularly want an incandescant light.

I’m still using my 20+ year old Peak 1 stove. It’s not a multi-fuel model, but I would assume that the current multi-fuel ones are as good.

I have a Therm-A-Rest, but I like my army-surplus inflatable mattress.

As for a stove, my 20+ year old Svea 123 is still going strong!
