Am I the only person who doubts that Oakminster is really a lawyer, or is it really normal for attorneys to come across as mildy bright 15 year-olds online?

Yes, you’re the only person. Oakminister has plenty of turns of phrase that come from the legal world and would not be used by an average lay person. Of course, that’s hardly definitive, but I have no particular doubts.
