Daring to try my own suggestion…

We didn’t have to wait long for another campus shooting. Early reports indicate one dead and three wounded in a [shooting at Northern Arizona University’s Flagstaff campus](http://abcnews.go.com/US/deadly-shooting-reported-northern-arizona-universitys-flagstaff-campus/story?id=34363113).

This thread is open to discussion of the event and gun control discussion. After all, Dopers surely can solve this recurring violence. Right?

A [separate thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=771478) has been created to discuss this incident but not gun control.
