If there was any overlap, I’d expect the voice actors to be the ones controlling the facial puppetry. Unless the actors are somehow doing that, too. I also never thought they’d be that big. I figured at most they would be the size of the Ninja Turtles. But Tinky-Winky is 8 feet tall?! ---

When my nephew was young enough to be watching Teletubbies, my brother described the show to me as “like ‘The Prisoner’ for preschoolers.” ---

Ha!Teletubbies is as mild marijuana to “[in the night garden](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Night_Garden)” crack cocaine. Same creators though unsurprisingly. What happened was that about a year earlier, there had been articles about how gays had adopted Tinky-Winky as a gay icon due to his purple color & carrying a purse. Soon after, he acknowledged that the discourse was getting overly rough & opened dialogue with Mel White, former ghostwriter for many famous Christians -Falwell included- who came out of the closet & founded Soulforce. Unfortunately, that attempt fell through as it became clear that Falwell was not going to veer from the Christian tradition about homosexuality and White was not going to veer from demanding that Falwell repudiate it. A year or two later, 9/11 happened & Falwell’s rhetoric really went into overdrive. ---
