# Can anyone recommend me music and movie cataloging software (Macintosh)?

I was hoping that maybe some of you OCD collector dopers might be able to help me find a simple database for the Mac that will keep track of albums (LPs), CDs, and DVDs. I need one where you can input a record by scanning the UPC code, which would then retrieve the vital information including the song names and the cover graphic from the internet. It also needs to be able to import records from another database. I tried a demo that uses the computer’s webcam to scan the bar code, which sounded like a cool idea, but turned out to be awkward, often coming up with the wrong title, or nothing at all.

Any ideas?

[Delicious Library](http://delicious-monster.com/) has been lauded for a long time. Unfortunately I am a heavy public library user and haven’t built a large enough collection to justify cataloging it myself.

Arrgghh, I woulda said Griffith ([http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/File-CD-DVD-Catalog/Griffith.shtml](http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/File-CD-DVD-Catalog/Griffith.shtml)) however, I see it’s only for Windows. It’s open source, so they might port to the Mac. It’s a great little product.

Named for D W Griffith, I think.

I use the [Collectorz programs](http://www.collectorz.com/) for my books, music, movies, and comics. All but the last is done by scanning the UPC then doing a search. All of the programs are available for both the Mac and Windows, and at least the Windows support is very good.
