The woman who so kindly cleans my house is from Brazil, and she has become a good friend over the past year. Today when I was in a store, I saw a sweater that was very inexpensive (it was on sale) that I thought would look quite spectacular on her, and I bought it. I will not necessarily be home the next time she comes to my house, so I would like to be able to leave a note for her explaining that I bought this on impulse at very little expense for her, simply because I thought she would look so pretty in it. I think it would please her very much if I could write the note in Portugese. Btw, I am a woman; this is not a come-on to her. If anyone here speaks Portugese, can you translate the following: Nair querida, I found this on sale for very little money, but I thought you would look very beautiful in it. Try Altavista’s [bablefish](http://babelfish.altavista.com/) auto translator. It’s not perfect, but it’ll do in a pinch with simple phrases. ---

I am stunned. I looked at your location, Trenton, and realized that you are talking about our friend Nair (she also cleans our home) who we love dearly. Of course, there may be two Nair’s in Trenton cleaning houses, but I seriously doubt it. Anyway, my Brazilian wife kindly wrote the following note: Querida Nair, Eu encontrei esse sueter bem barato numa promoção e achei que ia ficar muito bem em você. Por favor aceite esta pequena lembrança como prova da minha amizade por você. Carinhosamente, Oy! You can tell her that her friend from Rio helped you write it! ---
