# Can Charlie Daniels be a mean buffoon?

You’re absolutely correct. The insanity captured in [this piece](http://www.charliedaniels.com/soapbox-2010/soapbox-2010-0528.htm) totally sums up what you’re saying.

If that were a sequel, and they created an entire series of professional musicians one upping each other in sequence in their own style of music, it would quite possibly be the most amusing Geico commerical yet. Not that that would be a particularly hard title to achieve.

Restaurant Musician (gets one up-ed by) Charlie Daniels (gets one up-ed by) Farid Farjad (gets one up-ed by) Jean-Luc Ponty and so on and so forth

Growing up, “never buy anything advertised on TV” was repeated as wisdom, much like the platitudes found in Charlie Daniels’ screeds.

Of course, I didn’t come from as big & sophisitcated a town as he did. Wilmington NC had 92,000 people to my jerkwater’s 2,000.

**Farjad** would, of course, grab a rib off of somebody’s plate as he strutted away.
