Either one is probably like being forever doomed into the state of hyperbole.

**Hurr** should be our ambassador to the ladies! He can explain all this, tell them not to worry their pretty little heads about it. Don’t forget,\*\* Hurr\*\*, that even as they claim otherwise, deep down, they totally love it when a confident and assertive man takes the time to explain things to them. I liked Anita Hill. I supported Anita Hill.

Ford was no Anita Hill.

The Republicans lied about him, smeared his name, and called him a rapist and a drunk and a liar?

I think a significant difference might be that he wasn’t a mean drunk, a liar, and a sexual predator. Though apparently if he had been, the Republicans would have fought for him.

It’s only been since last week that there’s been fewer uncommitted Dems than uncommitted Pubbies, so you can stick that bullshit in the circular file.

So it’s okay for mods to call people “assholes” in non pit threads?
Interesting.

Well, Kavanaugh is a liar, he has been a serious drunk, and he may have also been a rapist. (Given his record for honesty on other matters, why should we give him equal cred with Dr. Ford on this one?)

So tell me again about those lies and smears. Seems like Kavanaugh did plenty of both last Thursday.

I think what **Shodan** is saying is that if the Republicans had said those things about Garland they would have been lies and smears.

Unlike what the Democrats are saying about Kavenaugh, which appears to be pretty accurate.

What should happen is, instead of assholes like you wasting your time here Mandelbrotting, or bleating your impotence in individual posts, you should coordinate a national walkout.

Being around back then, I think it’s more that people didn’t believe Hill should be making such a big deal of it rather than they didn’t believe her. That is, I remember believing the things she was saying, but _at the time_ thinking that they were no big deal and she was making a huge fuss out of a non-issue. I though she was getting upset over nothing. But objectively speaking, Anita Hill was much more believable. She was naming very specific incidents and providing a lot of detail about those incidents. I also believe Ford, but her recollections are much foggier and open to more interpretation.

It’s both.

Anita Hill was a forceful witness. Ford was horrible from start to finish. She was getting patronized. The vocal fry, everything. She sounded like a SoCal dingbat

That must be why TIME magazine just put Ford on the cover of the current issue, under the headline “Her Lasting Impact”, with her picture actually being an illustration composed from her words and phrases. Because, you know, she was so horrible. Also why even Fox News declared it a bad day for Republicans after her testimony. Because of its non-forceful horribleness. Also why there are now protests against Kavanaugh breaking out all over.

As for “getting patronized”, I don’t know what the hell you saw but what I saw was Democrats powerfully commending her as heroic, and Republicans pretending to be polite to her as a matter of political necessity.

Time magazine was influential the last time we got rid of a president. Not now, it got purchased by some social media asshole.

There were a bunch of rallies in the weeks after Trump took office. They amounted to 5k walks in nice weather. Did anything change? No.

You fucking morons are lazy. You think purging this pathetic website amounts to something.
