Well, the GOP is floating Biden’s shameful performance in 1991 for a couple of reasons, it helps get their current SCOTUS pick seated without much scrutiny and it also delivers a blow to Biden who is a likely frontrunner in a 2020 presidential race.

There was an event that occurred while they were admittedly drinking that was important enough that he felt the need to apologize for despite acknowledging that he doesn’t recall the event. He doesn’t recall what happened three days earlier while drinking. In his own words. Also while gambling. And making sure to not tell their wives about what they were up to.
That’s the definition of a blackout.
So the fact he blacked out 20 years after the alleged incident is relevant…how?
Could also be a rush so they can pick a replacement in the event of a No vote. Days matter.
It means he’s lying about his drinking habits (and will probably lie about them tomorrow).

I don’t think anyone disputes that fact that she told her therapist about this in 2012, so I don’t see that her having told other people afterwards adds anything. If you think that’s significant, can you explain why? Unless “several years” means “decades”.

If she is anything like Angela Wright, who had made at least one previous baseless allegation and had been fired by Thomas for using a slur, the Kavanaugh camp will probably only be too happy for her to testify.
Nothing suggests Ramirez is similar.
My apologies if this has been addressed before in this thread of over 3600 posts, but why wasn’t any of this brought up 12 years ago when Mr. Kavanaugh was confirmed to what many consider to be the second highest court in the land?

There was no #MeToo moment 12 years ago, and as bad as it is now for those coming forward with allegations of sexual assault, it was even worse then, with accusers generally treated horribly by law enforcement institutions (and our society in general).
Several of Kavanaugh’s Yale classmates who had previously signed letters of support and attested to his character have withdrawn that support and are now advocating for further investigation of these allegations.
Biden’s performance in 1991 is why he will never be president.
