Can Democrats actually stop the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh?

Cite?

He did not acknowledge being drunk, blackout or otherwise, in that email. That’s a figment of your imagination.

“Kavanaugh embodies fear just as Dr. Ford embodied courage.” - Zephyr Teachout

This.

I know that we’re supposed to post something more substantive.

Still… This.

O RLY?

Even if it’s politically touchy for him to advocate an FBI investigation, there’s gotta be better talking points than “I wanted to have a hearing right away!” and “well, I’m here and you can interview me.”

His inability to think beyond his script caused him to walk right into the trap that Leahy set regarding Mark Judge.

Yes, really. Please quote the part where “he acknowledged in an email being blackout drunk” if you think otherwise.

Here.

“Excellent time. Apologies to all for missing Friday (good excuse), arriving late Saturday (weak excuse), and growing aggressive after blowing still another game of dice (don’t recall).”

At least this is revealing (as if it wasn’t clear before) how partisan SCOTUS nominees can be, and how little GOP Senators care about the partisanship of their preferred SCOTUS nominees.

Your cite doesn’t say anything about alcohol, or being drunk. You can certainly SPECULATE that “(don’t recall)” was because he was blackout drunk, but it’s untrue and wrong to say “he acknowledged in an email being blackout drunk”. That’s false.

I don’t know that the has, but if he did, he shouldn’t have. Can you offer some examples where he suggested how the committee should run its business?

The other emails establish that they planned to drink. Why do you suppose he couldn’t remember the dice game in question that was three days prior?

So, they were drinking, and he blacked out, hence blackout drunk.

He’s been highly criticial of Feinstein and the Democrats in how they’ve handled this process.

It doesn’t need to.

The simplest explanation that fits the facts, and the only explanation offered thus far, is black out drunk.

He said that he got aggressive after losing a game of dice, but “don’t recall”. Apparently he is apologizing for some behavior that he can’t remember doing. What do you think the likely explanation for his failure to recall this is?

All I can say is that if Republicans think this person deserves to be on the Supreme Court, they’re going to fuck themselves hard.

It’s fine to SPECULATE that that’s the reason, but do you understand the meaning of the word “acknowledge” or the phrase “he acknowledged”? From your posts, it does not appear that you do.

He was crying as he mused about what he had written on his calendar earlier.

No, seriously, it’s quite likely he meant that he was drunk, but it’s not a slam dunk. He did not “admit to being blackout drunk”, and if you really think so, the Democrats would have brought that up.

It’s irrelevant what I think the likely explanation is. My point is that “he acknowledged in an email being blackout drunk” is absolutely false. If we can’t agree on such an obvious fact, then it’s a sad day on the Dope indeed.

As I cite above, his buddies email that they plan on bringing booze when they cite the boat prices before “food and booze”. I mean, you don’t say what something costs without something else unless you plan on bringing that something else. Otherwise they should cite the price before koala bears too.
