We’d need to build an ark to survive the flood of liberal tears if that happens.
At this point, I’m not sure there are any Republican politicians that aren’t either rapists, adulterers, or child molestors.
Help me remember: did you predict the results of the last election correctly or not?
Wasn’t you that pointed at guys that used 4chan to claim that Avenatti was punked?
Because…liberals are unaware of how the Senate’s committee system works:confused:
You’ll understand if I put more faith in the words of an accuser than in the party whose platform has become “Putting a rapist on the Supreme Court to own the libs”.
The ABA is asking the vote be held up and the FBI investigate.
Manu Raju broke it.
Perhaps she should have sent the letter to Trump instead of a Dem Congressperson if that was really her intent.
ETA: but I gather that she’s not really up-to-speed on how our government works.
Chances are that Women, who were not liberal before, will be more inclined to vote for the Democratic party if that happens.
That would require Trump to be able to read, let alone have the slightest shred of empathy for victims of sexual assault.
If by ABA you are referring to the American Bar Association, then that’s… kind of a big deal.
It won’t be liberal tears conservatives will need to build an ark to survive.
It will be the fury of millions of women who have silently tolerated decades of sexual harassment and sexual assault that has been dismissed because they just didn’t get the joke, were frigid bitches, were hysterical liars or waited too long to complain. And those are just a few of the ways millions of women have felt dismissed and treated like shit in these situations in the past. If Kavanaugh is confirmed, those days will be over in ways you and your pals don’t even begin to comprehend.
What is coming isn’t a flood, it will be a tsunami the likes of which have never been seen before or thought possible.
And your silly ass little ark won’t even begin to survive it.
Speaking as an addiction psychiatrist: Kavanaugh’s behavior today was absolutely stereotypical of an alcoholic in denial. It seemed so obvious to me how his entire demeanor changed when the subject turned to his drinking. He got hyper-defensive and did stuff like responding to a US Senator’s question with “Have YOU?”. Anyone who’s ever known an alcoholic can recognize that aggrieved, psuedo-humorous whine of “Well, I admit I like beer! Beer is not a crime! Lots of people like beer!” I could certainly be wrong, I’m not claiming to have enough information to make a diagnosis…but yeah. He seemed to have a much easier time sticking to the script when the topic was “only” alleged sex crimes.
(thunderous applause)
Verified. And that’s a big deal. Kavanaugh even touted today that the ABA endorsed him.
I saw a couple Jesuit publications called for the same. We’ll see if all this is enough to slow things down, but the ABA is credible to give Senators cover.
How, O Master of How Our Government Works, does one send a letter to Trump that will actually get read? Do you, O Master of How Our Government Works, really think a letter from a California college professor addressed to President Donald J. Trump of 1600 Pennsylvania Blvd, stating that Federal Judge Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her 30+ years ago, would’ve made Our Great Leader actually NOT nominate Judge K? Is that how our government works? Should she have printed out her letter on 25% cotton fiber grey-flecked resume paper for maximum effect with President Two-Scoops? Or would clicking on the “Contact Us” page on WhiteHouse.gov sufficed? Tell us how government works! Maybe even start a new thread called “Ask the guy who knows how government works.”
Yes, I thought so too. It’s on CNNs website. But tv is now playing Cooper again.
A big enough deal to impact the votes of any of those key senators? Or not? If not then not such a big deal that matters. Conservatives have long accused the ABA of having a liberal bias. This is just consistent with that perspective.
I’ll bet John Roberts called them and begged.
