Just so I’m clear, we can’t conclude Kavanaugh lied even though you acknowledge that there is no alternative explanation to explain some of his comments other than to say that he lied; but, you leave open the possibility of alien abduction or something so it’s incorrect to say that he lied.

ISTM that investigators paying a visit to Dr Ford’s home might be a way to evaluate the two door issue.
Ford implied that her desire for the second door was related to anxiety/claustrophobia as a result of the attack. She made it a point. To be useful as a second exit it would need to connect to the interior of the residence.
If the second front door only accesses a rental unit then her claim doesn’t make much sense. If the second front door accesses the main residence then it would tend to lend credence to her claim.
If only some sort of investigators had met her in California before the hearing.

Been posted elsewhere as well. Mostly right wing sites and I cannot ascertain if they just plagerised off 4Chan, but the claim has been around. Also the claim that her therapist was her house guest/tenant.

Wanting a separate entrance for the rental unit is completely consistent with her claims.
Allow me to speculate… they were converting part of their house to a rental unit. She didn’t want a tenant she barely knew to be able to directly access her living space because of a trauma in her past and insisted on a separate enterance. Her husband, unaware of the trauma, insisted that tenants would be screened and couldn’t understand why she was making a big deal about this. That’s when she told him about the assault.
Is any part of that unbelievable?
The fact that a claim has ‘been around’ means nothing. Hell, Rush Limbaugh might repeat it today for all we know: it’s not like he’s ever bothered to verify any of the stuff he picks up and includes in his daily 3-hour rant.
This routinely happens in the right-wing bubble. They repeat stuff like this because they want it to be true, not because anyone’s ever bothered to check and see if it IS true.
So, the theory of these 4Chan investigative geniuses is, she went through all this brouhaha just to try to avoid getting fined for having an illegal rental unit?

Seriously, the 2008 claim is not just 4Chan, it was first reported buried in astory in what appears to be a local paper, a story otherwise favourable, and really only gained traction later on post her testimony.
The paper could be wrong, and on its own its nothing. But, considering she was pretty adamant as to when she spoke to her therapist, well the 4 year delay seem odd. It would be something that she might be asked about.
Crazy thought, but just occurred to me and gave me a ray of hope.
I’ve long been fearful that a coalition of Dems and sane folk will turn out next month. And I can easily imagine Trump getting re-elected in 2020.
Not to underestimate the significance of a horrible Supreme like Kavanaugh, but II’m wondering if what I see as the likelihood of his nomination will be at least SOMEWHAT lessened by the effect it has in motivating Dem voters this fall and in 2020. Call me a cockeyed optimist…
Yes it will. But marginally as that enthusiasm has been there (see special elections). And the other side of the coin is the effect of motivating a circle the wagons GOP mindset on GOP voters who were not so enthused.

If she suffered an assault that bothered her 20 years later, it’s not even a little bit odd if it bothered her 24 years later.
Can you spell out exactly what you think the timeline is here and how you think it is in any way inconsistent with her testimony?
An extra exit door direct from her master bedroom could be pointed at as a material action she took as a response to being attacked. And any corroborating actions which took place prior to Kavanaugh’s appointment to the D.C. court could not be so easily ignored by some as a political hit job.
Absent contemporaneous corroboration of his involvement in a sexual asssult Kavanaugh is likely to be confirmed. So it behooves those interested in keeping an open mind to look at any details to see if they can be independently confirmed.

But it seems a lot of people are just genuinely unaware of what 4chan actually is: edgelords, shitlords, and trolls. Period, full stop, end of.
Not “some people there.” Not “a lot of people.” Not “people I disagree with.” All of them.
