Well, that WAS stupid. All the police would have to do is hold him over a candle for a while, and his features would be perfectly visible.
It probably made him smell good, though.
IIRC Orac had a few pieces on how Adams’ new “Lab” was mainly there to find infintesimal traces of heavy metals in competitors supplements. Seems about right.
Were those ellipsis an accusation of racism? Because I’d tend to agree that Oprah increases the amount of misery in the world and I don’t consider myself racist.
Well, you know the old joke.
“Doc, it hurts when I do this.”
“Don’t do that-- buy this useless crap instead!”
Not even remotely out of proportion.
Do you honestly think that the misery prorogated by influencing her followers to peruse nonsense instead of seeking actually clinical help is insignificant?
She may not be Jenny McCarthy level despicable, but she’s still an awful human being.
I think you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, assuming things for which you have no evidence. And even if Oprah’s influence has led some people to make choices that turned out badly, it hardly represents her overall impact on the world, which has been overwhelmingly positive. An “awful human being”? What is your standard?
Cripes.
Oz recommends Reiki to his audience, which is perhaps an even more bizarre thing for a physician to get on board with than this supplement thing. I think it’s appalling, truly.
I’m Black and I have serious issues with what Oprah does.
If she personally believes in wackadoodle theories and concepts, fine. Don’t use your clout to push those wacko theories on what is a very desperate and gullible public. That makes her worse than the people making their whacko claims.
I tend to agree. I used to really like Oprah, was a fan for years. But she seems to have lost any sense of responsibility towards her audience, and an appreciation for how different their circumstances are from hers.
I have no idea what I’m talking about?!
Seriously? Coming from you?!
Her only “overwhelmingly positive impact” is in making people feel warm and fuzzy while making horribly deluded decisions.
By what standard is she not awful?
Fuck.
Guess you needn’t bother looking under your seats.
Do you have some examples of her horrendous decisions which led to pain and suffering on a scale calling for her to die alone and miserable?
I’d say that Oprah’s combination of gullibility and influence is dangerous. Is she evil, probably not. But not everything damaging is evil.
But it was a copy of “The Secret” and I really wanted to know what it is so I can be a billionaire and have many hot model wives.
So maybe you can tell me, wtf is “soul collage” ?
So now we have to have concrete example of personal harm in order to call someone out?
I can’t point to a single person who can directly attribute harm from Fred Phelps but that doesn’t make him one bit less despicable.
You really are the pinnacle of stupidity.
BTW - got any good court cases going on? The last one was a blast to read about you idiotic fucking hag.
You’re not gonna believe this, but…Soul Collage is a doorway to your inner wisdom.
That’s OK, I’d rather not have to pay taxes on a car donated by the manufacturer (as a big ol’ promotion for them) because she designated it as a “prize” instead of a non-taxable gift.
I have no clue. Does it have something to do with Reiki?
ETA: n/m, Musicat got it.
So the answer is "I got nuthin’ "
And yes, if you make specific assertions of harm
You should be able to offer examples, and your inability to do so undermines the validity of your assertions. It’s a wacky point of view, but it works for me.
