Aside from making one myself I’d like to devise a way to wear a T-Shirt that says I ama a member of the Straight Dope Message Board without saying I am a member of thr SDMB… Perhaps a shirt with a phrase everyone on the SDMB would understand: Black or SDMB-Blue Lettering stating: \*\*Hi Opal. \*\* And that’s it. I went to Burning Man several years back when Zenster was a member and I wore a shirt with **Hi Opal** written on the front. I put it on there with a Sharpie. I knew he was going to be there but when I got to the playa I couldn’t find him so I figured I advertise.\* It would be cool if we had a shirt similar to this to wear about. People who asked what it means would obviously not be members and others who asked what your username was are clearly members… May be fun. Just wondering. \*Never did track him down but I did stumble upon a woman painted in opalesque colors and she said hello when I walked by her… 🙂 ---

I’ve gone to a couple of fests in restaurants, and I took care to get there early and put a copy of a Straight Dope book on the table. I got signatures from just about everyone, too. I think that if our new overloads are OK with it, that buttons/pinbacks would be a great way for us to recognize each other. Assuming, of course, that we WANT to be recognized. This post is written completely from a member’s viewpoint, not from a staff position, and I haven’t even mentioned buttons/pinbacks to Creative Loafing. However, I do urge everyone to BUY THE STRAIGHT DOPE BOOKS! They make wonderful gifts, if you already own one of each. Lynn ---

[/QUOTE] I would think that the T-shirt on the main straight dope page (click on Straight Dope Store) would qualify as the “old” shirt. Or are you discounting this because it’s a generic straight dope T-shirt and not a SDMB specific shirt? I’ve got a couple of those T-shirts (see, I support you, Cecil!). I get strange looks from my co-workers when I wear one to work. ---

I’ve always thought that a nice navy shirt with gold letters that simply stated SDMB would be appropriate. ---
