Jarbaby, please do not put me on the list of Dopers who don’t like you. I think I hold the championship title for most ill-concieved, ill-recieved Pit thread ever. It was called “MEN!!!” That’s probably all I need to say for you to get the idea of how badly it turned out. A poster who hated me from a previous thread actually started posting again (after a very long break) to share with the group what a bitch I was. (Like the sig isn’t a clue?) It was humiliating. It was terrible. It was horrifying. It went on for four pages, and I got tore up and down. I held my own on some points, but I also learned a painful lesson about making generalizations. I hope it’s been deleted, but if not, check it out. You’ll feel much better about dissing Oprah, I promise. ---

Aw, hon, you don’t want to start over - just think of all the memories we’d lose. Classics such as the Magical Silver Key Drinking Game[sup]tm[/sup] and playlets! I’ve been a pit-posting hosebeast hag all week without a pleasant word for anyone. I blame Anthrax. And my parents. And Starbucks. And global warming, El Nino, and most of all, PMS. Oh, and Nacho, I remember the “Men!” thread. :shudder: It’s great to see you posting again - I need to email you and ask you about a poet whose name I’ve forgotten. I can’t even find the cojones to be a bitch in the first place, and truly remarkable bitches (good remarkable, like, I have shrines to you both) like **jarbabyj** and **Cranky** end up feeling a need to apologize. Shoot, my ill-conceived Pit Rants are legendary. One involved a poster named Sneevil that I got truly ugly. I believe it reached 5 pages in the course of a single night. Some of it did hurt, but I got over it. There are a few others I don’t like to think about. As a matter of fact, I had _two_ MPSIMS threads that were uglier than most Pit threads every become. (I’m pretty sure **Persephone** knows which ones I’m referring to.) And while I’m not well a loved or particularly popular poster, nor do I pretend to be, I’d like to think that most things have been forgiven and forgotten. As a matter of fact, I’ve gotten into it with a certain poster who is on this very thread, and I’d like to think that even though we may not be buddy-buddy, we respect each other. Well, I respect her. There’s another poster who _tore into me_. A few months ago I had a very civil email exchange with him, and now he’s one of my favorite posters. Dopers in general don’t have very long memories, and I’ve found that the vast majority are willing to forgive, even if they can’t quite forget. ---

I’d like to meet **jarbaby** and the other ChiDopers sometime. Angie and I plan to vist my sister over in DeKalb next summer. We should be in the city sometime during our stay because I want to introduce Angie to the MSI, one of my favorite places when I was a kid. ---
