The ennervation that **Qadgop** mentioned is the big sticking point. To really make it work, you’d need to route the nerves from the appropriate regions in the brain - somatic, sympathetic, and parasympathetic - into the transplanted organ. And it really does have to be those specific nerves, because the way that the central nervous system integrates information is by knowing that specific “data lines” correspond to specific physical parts. If you just wire it into the arm’s nerves, it’d feel like a piece of arm. ---
