Seriously, my recommendations for the use of opioids do agree with the standards now being distributed by the nation’s leading experts. And by my, I mean those recommendations I learned from others long ago, and that I teach to others. I did NOT invent them myself.
My patients may choose between the options available to them, as described and presented by me. They may request anything they want, and I will hear their requests. And many patients have good insight and ideas into what will work for them. But patients don’t get to dictate what they want and expect me to provide it for them just because they want it.
11 years seems like a pretty slow escalation.
