Can one mark their territory by urinating around home or campsite? ala Never cry Wolf

Several UK zoos sell lion dung to gardeners, it’s meant to keep deer etc off the rosebed.

I have heard of people who will pee in a bottle, and then mark their fences etc using that (rather than peeing directly onto the site!).
