I wish I could read David Mitchell for the first time. I haven’t read number9dream yet, and I don’t when I will. I’m saving it, I don’t know when I might need it!
David Mitchell’s books each have a hook. Cloud Atlas has the linked stories spanning through time. Ghostwritten has the consciousness moving from body to body. Black Swan Green is a great story of adolescence (with a sly link to Cloud Atlas)

But I’ve been unable to find the hook in Number9Dream. It’s the one David Mitchell Book I have difficulty persisting with.

_Twilight Zone._ I want the fun of sitting through a New Year’s marathon and not knowing exactly what will happen next.

All the works of Neal Stephenson - to be able to read the Baroque Cycle again afresh is something that I’ll do continuously in heaven.
