In that this is GQ, the answer is yes, someone could ban you for two hours. I can’t help you on the rest of it. ---

I imagine it’s somewhat similar to not being logged in when you try to post, except that you effectively can never log in. ---

I’ve been banned from a message board before and it’s worse than not being logged in. You can’t even visit the boards. You need to use an anonymizer to browse - which I’m, uh, way too busy and important to ever do. ---

[/QUOTE] I think that’s only for an IP ban, and I don’t think the SDMB does that, except in extreme cases. ---

I was banned from a different message board once. It felt like… a lot like nothing, actually. I didn’t like that board anyway. ---
