# Can someone die from mosquito bites alone?

I have a cite: Abbitt, B. Abbitt, L.G. 1982 Fatal exsanguination of cattle attributed to an attack of salt marsh mosquitoes (Aedes sollicitans). J. Am. Vet. Med. Assoc. 179(12): 1397-1300.

This article was recently mentioned on Mosquito-L, and I think the incident occurred in Louisiana.

Now, where did I put that can of OFF!

Poysyn: My condolences! The mosquitoes were one of the main reasons my family left Winnipeg for Montreal. I love it here, and there are practically NO mosquitoes. There were a big swarm of mayflies in my neighbourhood the other week, but they were just annoying, not itchy.
